ISO/IEC 17025, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, allows labs to demonstrate their competently and ability to generate valid results. By promoting wider acceptance of results between countries, the standard helps facilitate cooperation among labs and other bodies. This facilitates global trade because test reports and certificates can be accepted without further testing.
ANAB accredits laboratories against ISO/IEC 17025 and features numerous accreditation programs based on the standard, including the AAFCO Feed Testing Laboratory Accreditation Program, the AOAC Food Testing Lab Accreditation Program, and the Cannabis Testing Laboratory Accreditation Program, among others.
