Update on the IAF Database of Accredited Certifications

Interconnected globe is searched through the IAF database on accredited certifications.

Progress on development of the International Accreditation Forum‘s Database of Accredited Certifications (IAF CertSearch) continues, with development of the website and data collection.

According to IAF, the IAF CertSearch platform has been built and is now receiving data from IAF and accreditation bodies. Further, it was set to receive certification data from certification bodies starting June 21, 2019.

By the end of May 2019, 62 accreditation bodies had activated their IAF CertSearch accounts and uploaded details on 3,454 certification bodies.

The IAF Database Management Committee issued invitations to certification bodies following a ballot period that closed in June. Invited certification bodies can upload their certification data and extend invitations to their certified entities. The IAF Database Management Committee will hold a series of webinars in July 2019 to support certification bodies.

IAF has indicated there is widespread support for the database internationally from governments, regulators, and industry. IAF will make an official public announcement as soon as IAF CertSearch is available to the public. The announcement will include social media, awareness, and promotional campaigns, beginning with industry, governments, and key stakeholders.
