You might be lucky enough to need a single standard to do your job, but many professions across industries require a number of standards, technical documents, and other requirements to assure conformity, effectiveness, safety, and other essential considerations. For assistance in this area, ANSI has curated numerous standards packages that bundle relevant standards together at a discount.

What Are Standards Packages?

ANSI sells Standards Packages: carefully curated standards, technical reports, and other documents found on the ANSI Webstore that are grouped and purchased together. In addition to the convenience of bundling these standards, many standards packages come with a discount on the overall cost of the collection.

Standards are packaged together by shared subject matter. Many Standards Packages group the standards in an entire series that are closely related but otherwise available only as separate publications.

For example, ANSI B11 deals with the safety of machinery, with individual standards focusing on safety requirements for machines such as metal sawing machines or gear and spline cutting machines. 30 of these standards are available together at a 50% discount as the ANSI B11. Other standards packages fit a specific application and industry and are meant to assist standards users who need various standards, sometimes from different publishers. For example, ISO 13849 / IEC 60204-1 / IEC 62061 / ISO 12100 – Electrical Safety of Machinery Package bundles several ISO and IEC standards (and comes with a 30% discount).

There are also some standards that need to be used in conjunction with others. For instance, ANSI Z136.9-2013 is a vertical standard that details the application of lasers in manufacturing environments, and it is meant to be used alongside ANSI Z136.1-2022, which is the horizontal (or general or basic) standard for the safe use of lasers.
