An errata document, ICC A117.1-2017: Errata – Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, makes several editorial corrections to the printing of ICC A117.1-2017: Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities.
As we discussed in our post on changes to standard documents through amendments, corrigenda, and errata, grammatical corrections to existing standards outside of their periodic review and revision process are marked through errata. These documents are published with these corrections clearly identified in the sections they impact, so they effectively feature text and/or figures intended to replace sections of the original standard document.
ICC A117.1-2017: Errata includes 14 corrections through revised text and figures. These are present in Chapters 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11 of ICC A117.1-2017.

ICC A117.1-2017 Standard for Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities
ICC A117.1-2017 details technical criteria for making sites, facilities, buildings, and related elements accessible. In doing so, its usage should help to allow a person with a physical disability (e.g. the inability to walk, difficulty walking, reliance on walking aids, blindness, deafness, lack of stamina, and extremes of physical size) to independently get to, enter, and use a site, facility, building, or element.
The ICC A117.1-2017 standard also provides criteria for Type B units under the criteria of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fair Housing Accessibility Guidelines, as well as criteria for minimal accessibility features for one and two family dwelling units and townhouses not covered by the HUD guidelines.
ICC A117.1-2017 is intended for adoption by government agencies and by organizations setting model codes for uniformity in technical design criteria among building codes and other regulations.
